Who you are

You have a strong background in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management, ideally with experience in the autonomous vehicle industry. You understand the importance of compliance with local and global EHS standards and have a proven track record of implementing effective safety programs. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to collaborate effectively with regulatory authorities, lawmakers, and internal teams. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to conduct thorough safety engineering analyses. You are passionate about promoting safety and continuously improving processes to ensure the well-being of all stakeholders involved in autonomous driving technology.

Desirable

Experience in the automotive or technology sectors is a plus, as is familiarity with safety engineering principles and practices. A background in working with regulatory bodies and understanding their requirements will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive EHS programs tailored to Waymo’s Americas West operations. You will ensure that these programs align with Waymo’s Global EHS Standards and Regional EHS Programs. You will work closely with the Environment, Health, and Safety Manager to develop safety goals and strategies that promote a culture of safety within the organization. Your role will involve conducting safety engineering analyses to ensure that safety considerations are integrated throughout the design and development of autonomous vehicles. You will also advise on compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, ensuring that Waymo meets all legal requirements. Additionally, you will collaborate with various teams to promote safety strategies and policies, fostering a proactive approach to safety across all operations.
