SpaceX is seeking a Senior DSP Engineer for the Starshield satellite team to drive program-level decisions on sensor firmware and software designs. You'll collaborate with RF engineers and software engineers to design and validate RF sensing systems. This role requires expertise in RF engineering and DSP.
You have 5+ years of experience in digital signal processing (DSP) and RF engineering, with a strong background in designing and implementing complex systems. Your expertise in firmware and software development allows you to drive program-level decisions effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to solve challenging problems. You are passionate about applying innovative solutions to large-scale RF sensing systems and have a proven track record of designing and testing algorithms for sensor data processing.
You possess a deep understanding of the principles of RF engineering and DSP, and you are skilled in developing firmware for embedded systems. Your experience includes working with FPGA, RF/antenna, and software engineers to design and validate RF sensing systems. You are comfortable navigating the complexities of sensor data processing and have a keen interest in exploring novel solutions that enhance system performance.
Experience with satellite communication systems or government projects is a plus. Familiarity with low earth orbit (LEO) systems and their operational challenges will set you apart. You are also encouraged to apply if you have experience in algorithm optimization and real-time data processing.
As a Senior DSP Engineer on the Starshield satellite team, you will be responsible for driving program-level decisions on sensor firmware and software designs. You will research and develop novel solutions for large-scale RF sensing systems, ensuring that the designs meet the stringent requirements of national security applications. Your role will involve designing and testing algorithms for both on-orbit and ground-based sensor data processing, contributing to the overall mission of providing global connectivity to the US government.
You will collaborate closely with a team of RF engineers, DSP engineers, software engineers, and hardware engineers to design and validate RF sensing systems. This collaborative approach will allow you to leverage the strengths of each team member and ensure that the systems you develop are robust and effective. You will also be involved in iterating rapidly from design to operational capability, applying the SpaceX mindset to tackle unsolved problems in a fast-paced environment.
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team focused on enabling human life on Mars and supporting national security efforts. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in a dynamic environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of space exploration and national security. Join us in our mission to explore the stars and make a difference in the world.
