You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, focusing on building scalable systems that can handle millions of users. Your expertise in cloud technologies allows you to design and implement robust solutions that meet high availability and performance standards. You are comfortable with containerization and orchestration, particularly using Docker and Kubernetes, and understand the principles of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Your knowledge of security practices, including CyberSec, ensures that the systems you build are secure and resilient.

You are proficient in Kotlin and have experience working with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) environments. Your familiarity with TypeScript and React enables you to collaborate effectively with frontend teams, ensuring seamless integration between the backend and client-side applications. You have a solid understanding of databases, particularly DynamoDB, and can optimize data storage and retrieval for performance.

What you'll do

As a Senior Engineer at VGW, you will be responsible for developing the backend of a new platform system that will host millions of players. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement features that enhance user engagement and retention. Your role will involve building a customer segmentation system that allows for personalized experiences and targeted interactions.

You will take ownership of your projects, from initial design through to deployment and ongoing maintenance. This includes writing clean, efficient code, conducting code reviews, and ensuring that best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in production, leveraging your experience to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will participate in the Engineering Learning and Development program, attending workshops and talks from thought leaders in the industry. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to their growth, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
