SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support Launch Operations at their Vandenberg facility. You'll be responsible for hazard assessments, incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
You have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with experience in conducting hazard assessments and incident investigations. You understand the importance of compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and you are skilled at collaborating with leadership to implement effective safety policies. You are proactive in addressing safety concerns and are committed to fostering a safe work environment for all employees. You have a keen eye for detail and are able to identify potential risks before they become issues.
Experience with Cal-OSHA, Federal OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH regulations is a plus. Familiarity with aerospace or launch operations can enhance your candidacy. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on safety.
As an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer at SpaceX, you will play a critical role in supporting launch operations at the Vandenberg facility. You will conduct thorough hazard assessments to identify potential risks associated with launch activities and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. You will collaborate with department leaders to implement health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards, conducting inspections of facilities and machinery, and developing recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met. You will also participate in both pre and post-launch site hazardous operations, ensuring that safety protocols are followed at all times.
