Google is seeking a Senior Silicon Generalist to contribute to the development of custom silicon solutions. You'll work with embedded software testing on SoCs in Linux and Android, requiring strong programming skills in Python and experience in hardware testing. This role is based in Bengaluru.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience in hardware or embedded testing and automation. Your background includes testing embedded software on System on Chip (SoC) platforms in Linux, Android, or Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), along with a solid understanding of hardware architecture, board schematics, protocols, and standards. You may also have a Master's degree or PhD with a focus on Computer Architecture, which further enhances your expertise in this field.
Your experience includes working with prototype devices and you are familiar with Linux kernel driver test automation and framework development. You possess strong programming skills in modern Python, which you have utilized to drive test automation and enhance existing test frameworks. You are passionate about pushing boundaries and developing innovative silicon solutions that power consumer products, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can contribute to the next generation of hardware experiences.
Experience with Android application development is a plus, as it complements your existing skill set and enhances your ability to contribute to cross-functional teams. You are eager to engage with cutting-edge technologies and are committed to delivering exceptional software quality for silicon software.
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team that focuses on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. You will create and implement test strategies by collaborating with development teams to identify risk areas and fill testing gaps. Your responsibilities will include driving test automation using existing test frameworks and working closely with the Engineering Productivity team to enhance and develop new test frameworks based on specific testing requirements.
You will engage in hands-on testing of embedded software, ensuring that the silicon solutions meet the highest standards of performance and efficiency. Your contributions will directly impact the innovation behind products that are loved by millions worldwide, shaping the future of hardware experiences.
You will also be responsible for documenting your testing processes and results, providing valuable insights to the engineering teams.
