Overview

WPP is seeking a JP/EN Interpreter to support their advertising agency business in Tokyo. You'll be responsible for simultaneous interpreting and written translations for internal and client meetings. This role requires 3-5 years of experience in a multinational company.

Who you are

You have at least 3-5 years of experience as a JP/EN interpreter or translator, ideally within a multinational company. Your background may also include time spent studying at an interpreting school, which has equipped you with the necessary skills for this role. Experience in an advertising agency is a significant plus, as it will help you navigate the specific language and nuances of the industry. You are comfortable with both casual and formal settings, ensuring that your interpretations are accurate and contextually appropriate. Your ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism in various situations is essential for success in this position.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide day-to-day interpreting services for internal meetings and client interactions, facilitating communication between English and Japanese speakers. Your responsibilities will include simultaneous interpreting during meetings, ensuring that all parties understand the discussions in real-time. Additionally, you will be tasked with translating written documents, such as proposals and internal reviews, to support the agency's operations.
