Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in operating systems and cloud technologies. Your background includes working with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and you possess a strong understanding of container runtimes and virtualization technologies. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to tackle complex engineering challenges at scale.

Your expertise in Linux and containerization tools like Docker allows you to design and optimize systems that meet rigorous performance and security standards. You are comfortable working with large-scale distributed systems and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all services are compliant with industry regulations.

You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys innovating and pushing the boundaries of technology. You understand the importance of collaboration and communication within a team, and you are excited about the opportunity to make a significant impact on Snowflake's core business.

Desirable

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Operating Systems team, you will design, build, and manage the operating system layer for Snowflake's infrastructure across all major cloud platforms. You will collaborate with cloud providers to develop cutting-edge software and hardware features that enhance our services. Your role will involve working on large-scale projects that require a deep understanding of build infrastructure, platforms, tools, and automation in the cloud.

You will ensure that all internal services deployed at major cloud providers meet strict performance, security, and compliance requirements. Your work will directly contribute to the development of current and future OS and container images used by virtual machines and containers, enabling Snowflake to accelerate its growth and innovation.
