SpaceX is hiring a Supervisor for the Machining team to oversee the production of critical components for the Starship. You'll lead a team of machinists and technicians, ensuring high safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership and machining expertise.
You have experience in machining and a strong background in supervising teams — you understand the intricacies of managing personnel and driving production schedules. Your leadership style emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency, ensuring that your team meets the demands of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You are skilled in tracking metrics and collaborating with engineering teams to optimize production processes. Your ability to mentor and develop machinists and technicians is key to fostering a high-performing team.
As the Supervisor of Machining for Starship Components, you will guide a team of machinists and deburr technicians through daily work assignments, focusing on personnel development and providing frequent feedback. You will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and leading a team of up to 25 machinists and technicians. Your role will involve tracking shop floor metrics and partnering with engineering to maximize delivery rates through high machine utilization and low cycle times. You will set and maintain a tight production schedule to meet downstream valve assembly demands, ensuring efficient workload distribution among your team. Regular assessments of equipment and tooling health will be part of your responsibilities, as will ensuring employee safety through training and proper use of personal protective equipment.
