Uber is hiring a Data Analytics Specialist IV to optimize SQL queries and maintain data infrastructure for global customer support reporting. You'll work with SQL, Python, and Tableau to drive data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience in data management.
You have a strong background in data analytics, with a focus on SQL development and data management. You enjoy solving complex problems and have experience writing, optimizing, and maintaining SQL queries. Your expertise in Python or R for statistical modeling complements your SQL skills, allowing you to tackle data challenges effectively. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for ensuring data quality and accuracy across reporting systems. You thrive in collaborative environments and can translate business questions into technical data requirements, making you a valuable partner to stakeholders.
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau is a plus, as is familiarity with data pipeline management using technologies such as Apache Spark. A background in operational data analysis and a passion for understanding support workflows will help you excel in this role.
In this role, you will spend the majority of your time writing, debugging, and optimizing complex SQL queries using PrestoSQL and Spark. You will build and maintain backend data pipelines that feed operational dashboards, ensuring that field managers and senior leadership have access to reliable reporting datasets. Your responsibilities will include performing data quality control and validation to maintain accuracy across reporting systems. You will also conduct data wrangling and schema analysis to understand data structures and relationships, deep diving into operational data to identify gaps or quality issues.
You will partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into technical data requirements, performing ad hoc SQL-based analyses to investigate performance anomalies and operational blockers. Additionally, you will build and maintain Tableau dashboards that visualize key metrics and insights, contributing to data-driven decision-making across the organization.
