You hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, and you have at least 5 years of experience working with consumer electronics. Your background includes hands-on experience in fault analysis, root cause identification, and implementing solutions in manufacturing environments. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams across Asia and the United States. A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred, along with 10 years of experience in consumer electronics. You have a proven track record of launching multiple handheld consumer electronic products and a solid understanding of various manufacturing methods used in consumer products. You thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment, applying your creativity and diverse engineering experience to solve complex technical challenges.
As a Senior Product Designer at Google, you will be involved in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new product ideas. You will work in a product-focused development environment, collaborating with suppliers and external resources to transition components into production. Your role will include designing subsystems and components from concept through to mass production, ensuring that designs meet functional, reliability, human factors, manufacturability, and aesthetic requirements. You will monitor suppliers throughout the design process, from ideation to mass production, and address any production and reliability issues that arise. You will also be responsible for brainstorming practical solutions and implementing design improvements based on feedback and testing results.
