Axon is seeking a Director of Accounting Strategy & Financial Reporting to lead accounting research and operational analysis with a focus on M&A and strategic investments. This role requires collaboration with senior leadership and the development of actionable accounting policies.
You are a forward-thinking and highly motivated team player with extensive experience in accounting strategy and financial reporting. You have a strong understanding of M&A processes, strategic equity and debt investments, and new accounting standards. Your ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and present findings to senior leadership sets you apart. You are committed to driving real change and supporting the SEC reporting process, ensuring compliance with financial statement disclosures.
You possess a keen analytical mindset and are adept at conducting operational analysis. Your experience includes developing clear and actionable accounting policies, as well as providing informative training to team members. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about making a meaningful impact in your role.
Experience in a technology-focused company is a plus, as is familiarity with non-GAAP financial measures. You are comfortable navigating complex accounting issues and can effectively communicate the implications of unique transactions to stakeholders.
In this role, you will lead the Accounting Strategy and Financial Reporting team at Axon, focusing on critical areas such as M&A and strategic investments. You will oversee the accounting research process, ensuring that your team is equipped with the necessary insights to make informed decisions. Your responsibilities will include supporting the SEC reporting and earnings release process, where you will play a key role in overseeing financial statement disclosures.
You will collaborate closely with the Strategy and Corporate Development team, advising them on the accounting implications of unique transactions. Your expertise will be crucial in developing clear, actionable accounting policies that align with Axon's mission to protect life. You will also have the opportunity to present your research results and assessment findings to senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions at the highest level.
