Apple is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for the Apple TV Sports team to build real-time sports data services. You'll work with Java and Spring to create scalable solutions for millions of users. This role requires extensive experience in backend engineering and distributed systems.
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have navigated the complexities of debugging distributed systems. Your deep expertise in Java and Spring allows you to ship high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have strong opinions on service architecture and testing strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features. Mentoring junior engineers is something you enjoy, as you believe in fostering growth within your team. You are familiar with industry-standard best practices for distributed architectures and are committed to ensuring exceptional performance and reliability in your work.
Experience with real-time data processing and high-availability systems is a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and cloud services will help you excel in this role.
