Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
As an Engineering Operations Technician, you will be the critical guardian of our technological infrastructure. You have a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, and you thrive in hands-on troubleshooting environments. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, ensuring that the digital world runs smoothly and efficiently. You are comfortable working with stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and various cooling and power equipment. You understand the importance of operational excellence in data centers and are eager to support AWS's global infrastructure.
You have experience in maintaining and operating mission-critical facilities, and you are familiar with the intricacies of data center operations. You are detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, allowing you to tackle complex issues effectively. You enjoy collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, and you are committed to continuous learning and improvement in your field.
Experience with AWS infrastructure services or similar environments is a plus. Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for electrical and mechanical systems will set you apart. You are eager to learn and grow within the organization, and you are open to taking on new challenges as they arise.
In this role, you will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot the Data Center Operations' Mission Critical Facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical and mechanical equipment is functioning optimally. Your day-to-day tasks will include monitoring systems, performing routine maintenance, and addressing any issues that arise. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure seamless operations and support the overall mission of keeping the cloud running.
You will engage in hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. Additionally, you will work with cooling systems such as CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers. Your role will require you to be proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to prevent downtime.
You will also participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about operational improvements and best practices. Your insights will help shape the future of our data center operations, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts in various fields.
