You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on improving development workflows and CI processes. Your background includes mentoring team members and collaborating with geographically-distributed teams, ensuring that everyone can contribute effectively to the project. You are comfortable with various programming languages, particularly JavaScript and Python, and have experience with containerization technologies like Docker. Your understanding of CI/CD practices allows you to streamline development processes and enhance product delivery.
You thrive in environments where you can make a significant impact on the development lifecycle. You have a knack for identifying bottlenecks in workflows and implementing solutions that save time and resources. Your experience with version control systems like Git ensures that you can manage codebases efficiently and collaborate seamlessly with other developers. You are also familiar with testing frameworks and methodologies, which help you maintain high-quality standards in your work.
Experience with open-source projects is a plus, as it aligns with Mozilla's mission to create a better internet for everyone. Familiarity with web technologies and frameworks will also be beneficial in this role, as you will be working closely with Firefox developers to enhance their tools and processes. You are open to learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving landscape of software development.
In this role, you will focus on improving Firefox development workflows, reducing the time spent on testing and debugging. You will work closely with developers to identify pain points in their processes and implement automation solutions that enhance productivity. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of the development team, allowing them to deliver high-quality features to users more rapidly.
You will collaborate with a geographically-distributed team, participating in regular meetings and discussions to ensure alignment on project goals. Mentoring junior team members will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you share your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles. You will also engage in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure best practices are followed across the team.
Your role will involve working with various tools and technologies to facilitate continuous integration and deployment. You will help set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that code changes are tested and deployed efficiently. Additionally, you will contribute to the documentation of processes and workflows, making it easier for new team members to onboard and understand the development environment.
Mozilla offers a competitive salary range of £65,000—£95,000 GBP, along with a flexible remote work environment. You will be part of a mission-driven organization that values diversity and inclusion, and you will have the opportunity to work on projects that have a meaningful impact on the internet and its users. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe in fostering a culture of growth and learning.
