Who you are

You have 2-5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong background in building and maintaining scalable systems. You are familiar with cloud environments and have a solid understanding of networking principles. Your experience includes working with service mesh technologies and ensuring reliable service-to-service communication. You are passionate about improving system reliability, observability, and security, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can work closely with cross-functional teams.

You have hands-on experience with modern cloud-native technologies, particularly in AWS and GCP. Your technical toolkit includes Kubernetes for container orchestration and Terraform for infrastructure as code. You are comfortable with automation and tooling to manage configurations and traffic routing at scale. You understand the importance of API management and have implemented best practices in service discovery and load balancing.

Desirable

Experience with Envoy and ArgoCD is a plus, as is familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and are always looking for ways to enhance system performance and security. You are a team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and mentoring others, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Traffic team at DoorDash, you will design, build, and operate the networking and service mesh platform that supports our global infrastructure. You will work on evolving our service mesh, focusing on enhancing reliability and security for all service-to-service communications.

You will develop automation and tooling to manage configurations and policy rollouts, ensuring that our systems can handle traffic efficiently and securely. Your responsibilities will include driving best practices in API management, service discovery, and fault tolerance, contributing to the overall performance of DoorDash’s logistics engine.
