Mozilla is hiring a Software Engineer for their DOM Core team to improve web technologies. You'll work with JavaScript and contribute to the development of standardized APIs. This position is remote and based in Belgium.
You have a strong background in software engineering, particularly in web technologies. You are passionate about improving user interaction and document loading processes. You enjoy writing code and tests, and you are eager to learn and grow as an engineer. You understand the importance of collaboration and are excited to work with a global team focused on enhancing the web experience.
Experience with open-source projects is a plus. Familiarity with web standards and APIs like DOM, HTML, and Events will help you succeed in this role. You are comfortable working in a remote environment and can effectively communicate with team members across different time zones.
As a Software Engineer on the DOM Core team, you will be responsible for implementing and improving standardized APIs that enhance web functionality. You will work on page navigation, document loading, event handling, and user interaction features within the Gecko engine. Your role will involve writing high-quality code and tests, building prototypes, and solving complex problems. You will collaborate with other engineers to push the boundaries of what the web can achieve, ensuring that Mozilla continues to lead in web innovation.
You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall quality of the codebase. You will also have opportunities to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge with the team. Continuous learning is a key aspect of this role, and you will be encouraged to explore new technologies and methodologies that can benefit the team and the broader Mozilla mission.
Mozilla offers a competitive salary range of €42,000—€62,000 EUR for this remote position in Belgium. You will be part of a mission-driven organization that values diversity and inclusion.
