Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to oversee NPI operational readiness and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You'll work with Lean, Six Sigma, and DFx methodologies to drive manufacturing excellence in Sunnyvale.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in SMT and box build manufacturing processes. Your expertise includes manufacturing best practices such as Lean and Six Sigma, and you have a solid background in new product development. You are skilled in performing DFx (Design for Excellence) using tools like Valor and Allegro, and you have developed PCBA manufacturing processes, acceptance testing, startup, and qualification. Your experience in project engineering has equipped you to oversee NPI operational readiness for L6 and L10 levels. A Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering is preferred, along with experience in new site/line/equipment bring up/transfer and qualification. You excel at building strong technical relationships with agreement manufacturers and vendors, and you have a proven ability to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous process improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.

In this role, you will be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You will collaborate with design and cross-functional engineering teams throughout NPI phases to identify value engineering opportunities and ensure manufacturability. Your responsibilities will include working closely with manufacturing partners on build readiness and process validation, solving design and manufacturing issues efficiently to meet project timelines and ensure flawless NPI launches. You will contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide, ensuring that all processes align with Google's high standards of quality and efficiency. You will also be expected to communicate effectively with global teams, manage projects spanning multiple technologies, and contribute to the engineering community.
