Oscar is hiring a Senior Analyst, Actuarial - Valuation to support their Valuation processes for ACA markets. You'll utilize SQL and Python to establish projections and inform company strategies. This position is fully remote for candidates residing in Hartford, CT.
You have a strong background in actuarial science and financial analysis, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise includes establishing Incurred but not Reported (IBNR) projections and risk adjustment accruals, which are crucial for effective budget planning and pricing strategies. You are proficient in SQL and Python, using these tools to drive insights and enhance existing frameworks. You possess excellent analytical skills and are comfortable investigating performance trends to inform strategic decisions. Your communication skills enable you to convey complex actuarial concepts clearly to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.
Experience with health insurance markets, particularly the Affordable Care Act (ACA), is a plus. Familiarity with valuation processes and risk management will set you apart. You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment, eager to contribute to a team focused on innovation in health insurance.
In this role, you will support Oscar's Valuation processes by establishing and communicating accruals for the monthly close process related to IBNR claims and risk adjustment. You will analyze actual performance trends to inform budget planning and pricing strategies, ensuring that the company remains competitive in the market. Your work will involve collaborating with the actuarial team and reporting directly to the Director, Actuarial. You will also participate in the department's rotational program, gaining exposure to various aspects of actuarial work. As you drive new insights and resources, you will play a key role in shaping Oscar's approach to valuation and risk management.
Oscar provides a competitive salary range of $101,844 - $133,670.25 per year, along with comprehensive employee benefits.
