SpaceX is hiring a Precision Inspector (Valves) to perform inspections of machined aerospace parts and ensure compliance with design requirements. This role requires 3+ years of experience and expertise in GD&T and CMM programming.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience in precision inspection, particularly in the aerospace industry. Your background includes a strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to read engineering drawings. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high-quality standards in your work. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are proactive in communicating with production teams to resolve quality-related issues. Your experience with CMM programming and PC-DMIS is essential for this role, allowing you to create and maintain measurement programs effectively.
As a Precision Inspector at SpaceX, you will be responsible for completing surface plate work and inspecting machined aerospace parts to ensure they conform to design specifications. You will perform complex inspections using standardized methods and conduct in-process inspections, both visual and dimensional, of precision machined parts. Your role will involve documenting non-conformances and supporting the quality management system by assessing compliance with company and industry standards. You will also lead continual improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
