SpaceX is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Avionics) to lead the development of avionics hardware. You'll design new hardware and improve existing systems, focusing on reliability and manufacturability. This role requires expertise in electronic design and troubleshooting.
You have 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in avionics or related fields. Your background includes designing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies, and you possess a strong understanding of PCB design and manufacturing processes. You are skilled in using tools like Altium Designer and LabVIEW, and you have experience with embedded systems. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about contributing to projects that push the boundaries of technology.
Experience with aerospace standards and regulations is a plus. Familiarity with reliability engineering principles and practices will help you excel in this role. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and have a track record of driving changes that enhance product performance.
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on the Avionics Hardware Development team, you will take ownership of avionics hardware throughout its life cycle, from development to production and launch. You will design new hardware and modify existing designs to improve reliability and manufacturability. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies, defining new processes, and designing circuits and fixtures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the avionics systems meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
You will also be responsible for driving changes to electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, ensuring that all modifications enhance the reliability and manufacturability of the systems. Your role will involve performing root cause analysis on any issues that arise during testing and production, and you will work closely with manufacturing teams to implement solutions.
