Overview

Datadog is seeking a Director of Enterprise Sales for the Public Sector to lead a team of account executives in driving new business. This role requires extensive experience in enterprise sales and relationship building with large organizations.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience leading high-performing enterprise sales teams in B2B technology companies, demonstrating a strong track record in driving new business and managing complex sales processes. Your expertise includes building trust with Fortune 1000 companies and navigating intricate negotiations involving multiple stakeholders, including legal and procurement teams. You are well-versed in selling to C-level executives in the IT sector, showcasing your ability to articulate business value and negotiate pricing effectively. You possess a passion for coaching and mentoring your team members, sharing your successful closing experiences to foster their growth in a rapidly evolving environment. You are adaptable and willing to travel within Tokyo and other regions for client meetings, as well as participate in international events as needed.

What you'll do

In this role, you will manage and lead the account executive team focused on the public sector, overseeing recruitment, training, and onboarding processes to ensure a strong start for new hires. You will drive new contracts and upsell opportunities with existing customers, aiming to meet monthly and quarterly targets while steering the enterprise team's annual contract goals. Your responsibilities will include managing performance metrics such as deal size, win rates, and forecast accuracy to support the growth of your account executives. You will build strong relationships with executives at your assigned accounts, coaching your team through complex, large-scale deals and advanced negotiations. Additionally, you will develop and execute the Go To Market strategy for your area, collaborating with marketing, product, and customer success teams to create tailored messaging and promotional materials that address specific business needs. You will also conduct weekly forecasting meetings and participate in meetings with prospects and existing clients, leading discussions and supporting your direct reports as necessary.
