Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in hardware environments — you've successfully managed manufacturing launches and resolved complex process issues. Your technical expertise allows you to act as a key contact for upstream component vendors and internal teams, ensuring high-quality hardware for AWS products.
You possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance — you've monitored and improved hardware quality proactively during the design phase and have a track record of investigating early-life product failures. You are comfortable navigating the complexities of international manufacturing and production settings.
Your problem-solving skills are top-notch — you can quickly assess manufacturing gaps and drive improvements in supplier processes. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering the best results for customers.
Desirable
Experience with cloud computing platforms or similar technologies is a plus — familiarity with AWS services can enhance your contributions to the team. A background in supply chain management or logistics would also be beneficial, as it complements the manufacturing engineering role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will take full ownership of the manufacturing launch process for AWS hardware products — you will be responsible for ensuring that production is up and running smoothly, addressing any issues that arise during the manufacturing phase. Your expertise will guide the team in understanding and resolving hardware failures, ensuring that quality standards are met.
You will collaborate with various teams, including hardware and software development, to monitor the quality of incoming hardware — your insights will help shape design improvements and enhance overall product reliability. You will also be involved in reporting and investigating product failures, providing critical feedback to improve future designs.
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes — you will analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing changes that enhance efficiency and quality. Your role will require you to stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to keep AWS at the forefront of cloud computing.
You will work closely with suppliers to ensure that their manufacturing processes align with AWS standards — your ability to build strong relationships will be key in driving improvements and ensuring that quality is maintained throughout the supply chain.
