Rubrik is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of their API Infrastructure. You'll work with REST and GraphQL APIs to enhance user and system interactions. This role requires 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
You have over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on API design and implementation. Your background includes working with REST and GraphQL APIs, and you have a deep understanding of building scalable and secure API infrastructures. You are skilled in collaborating with product managers and customer solution architects to identify integration needs and drive technical solutions that meet customer demands.
You possess a strong technical leadership ability, guiding teams in best practices for API hygiene, scalability, and performance. You thrive in environments that foster quality and continuous improvement, and you are passionate about mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical curiosity. Your experience includes assessing existing systems and proposing innovative solutions that align with organizational goals.
You are adept at navigating complex technical discussions and securing buy-in from stakeholders across various engineering teams. In this role, you will architect and lead the implementation of Rubrik's next-generation API infrastructure, focusing on both internal and external customer needs. You will work closely with product managers to understand the API and integration requirements of sophisticated customers, ensuring that the solutions you design are robust and scalable. Your responsibilities will include defining best practices for API design, security, and performance, as well as driving the adoption of these practices across the engineering organization.
You will provide technical leadership to the API team, guiding engineers in their work on the API layer and ensuring that they have the resources and support needed to succeed. You will also be responsible for identifying new technologies that can be integrated into the API infrastructure, keeping Rubrik at the forefront of innovation in this space.
Your role will involve representing the User Access organization within Rubrik's Technical Leadership community, contributing to discussions on technical direction and strategy. You will foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within your team, encouraging engineers to explore new ideas and approaches to problem-solving.
