Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Key job responsibilities
The Kuiper Supply Chain team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to support business and engineering stakeholders in developing, implementing and monitoring ground systems manufacturing test within our supply base. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record working with a global supply base in developing, implementing and scaling manufacturing tests in order to achieve business needs. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage.

• Develop and implement manufacturing tests at the contract manufacturing sites
• Responsible for supplier test readiness to support Kuiper Ground Gateway Modem Assembly production needs including test equipment and testing scripts
• Coordinate with internal testing development teams to support component, PCBA and final assembly level testing at suppliers
• Collaborate with ground systems engineers to gain an in-depth knowledge of RF electronics and antenna systems external manufacturing requirements

A day in the life
In this role as a Technical Program Manager, you will be actively working with Ground Systems Engineering team, sourcing, quality, digital operations, internal testing and security team to develop and implement manufacturing tests across global supply base for ground gateway equipment. The products will enable mission critical, high throughput communications with Kuiper satellites. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to manufacture, test, and distribute solutions and products globally enabling Kuiper’s global network.

- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 1+ years of embedded development experience in C/C++, and familiarity with SoC and embedded OS.
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging RF electronics or PCBAs level integration.
- Experience developing, implementing and monitoring manufacturing tests and controls at suppliers- Demonstrated experience in system bring-up, manufacturing line testing and new product introduction
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and embedded Linux
- Comfortable in some scripting language of choice
- Experienced with various RF electronics or PCBA manufacturing processes, including assembly and test methods at component level, subsystem, and system level

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
