Principal .NET Software Engineer- Cloud Payments Platform

Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in software engineering, particularly with .NET technologies, and have a proven track record of evolving and modernizing payment infrastructures. Your expertise in C# and ASP.NET allows you to design and implement scalable and secure distributed services that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.

You possess a strong understanding of cloud-based architectures and have experience working with payment systems, which gives you insight into the complexities of financial transactions. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Security, Compliance, and Operations, to drive shared initiatives forward.

Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you thrive in environments where you can take ownership of critical services. You are passionate about improving existing systems and have a keen eye for identifying areas where technology can streamline processes and enhance performance.

You are a strong communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and you enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge, and fostering a collaborative team environment. You understand the importance of cash flow clarity in finance and are motivated to contribute to solutions that make a real impact.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus, as is familiarity with compliance standards relevant to payment processing. You may also have experience with microservices architecture, which will be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take the lead in evolving Versapay's payments infrastructure, focusing on scalability and security enhancements. You will design new distributed services that add significant value to the platform, ensuring that they meet the needs of over 10,000 customers and 5 million companies transacting on the platform.

You will work closely with product teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements, ensuring that the solutions you develop align with business objectives. Your contributions will directly influence the technical direction of the platform, and you will have the opportunity to implement best practices in software development and architecture.

You will also be responsible for conducting code reviews, ensuring that the codebase remains clean and maintainable. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving complex issues that arise within the payment services, ensuring minimal disruption to users.

Collaboration is key in this position, and you will partner with various teams to move shared initiatives forward, creating a better experience for customers. You will be involved in strategic discussions about the future of the platform and how technology can continue to drive business growth.
