Risk Analyst

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience, and at least 4 years of financial analysis, accounting, or analytics experience in an insurance or financial services environment. You are familiar with financial statements and GAAP accounting standards, and you possess excellent project management skills. Your ability to deliver high-quality presentation materials in tight time frames is complemented by your strong communication and people skills, allowing you to work effectively with various internal stakeholders.

Desirable

An MBA or Master's degree is preferred, along with knowledge of risk management, insurance, and captive insurance companies. You are comfortable handling ambiguity in a rapidly changing landscape and have a keen focus on organization and attention to detail.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be a central pillar within Google's risk management function, focusing on strategic support for internal insurance operations, claims, captives, and payments. You will deliver key financial analysis, accounting coordination, and audit support, ensuring compliance with proper financial reporting and GAAP accounting practices. Your work will involve coordinating financials and reports that support Alphabet entities, establishing profitability measurements and metrics for insurance operations, and working closely with auditors and vendors on financial reporting and accounting requirements.

You will gain exposure to a vast range of teams and associated risks, providing metrics to management on risk issues, financial performance, and claims trends. Your analytical skills will be crucial in modeling business scenarios and tracking performance metrics, which will be used by leaders to make strategic company decisions. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.
