Amazon is hiring a Data Center IT Support Engineer to work in their advanced data centers in Melbourne. You'll be responsible for installing and troubleshooting infrastructure that supports AWS cloud services, with a focus on server and networking technology.

Who you are

You have a strong background in server and networking technology, with experience in data center operations. You are skilled in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, particularly with Linux servers. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy tackling diverse challenges daily. Your ability to work collaboratively with logistics and other teams ensures smooth daily operations. You are committed to continuous learning and career progression, eager to grow within a customer-centric organization like Amazon.

Desirable

Experience with AWS services is a plus, as is familiarity with data center power and cooling systems. You may have certifications related to IT support or networking, which would enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as the escalation point for technical issues within the data center, diving deep into Linux server problems and remediating physical layer outages. You will be responsible for the physical replacement of server and network equipment, ensuring that all installations and configurations meet internal service level agreements. Your role will involve triaging and resolving trouble tickets for devices in your region, contributing to the overall efficiency of data center operations. You will participate in shift work, including night shifts on a rotational basis, to maintain 24/7 operations.
