Your background includes a deep understanding of AI technologies, including Agent Assistance and Conversational Analytics, which are crucial for this role. Your technical expertise encompasses AI and machine learning, with a strong focus on generative AI. You possess a deep understanding of modern AI architectures, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and multimodal models. You have practical experience integrating LLMs into production systems, which includes prompt orchestration and multi-agent workflows. You are familiar with the latest advancements in AI technologies and are eager to apply them to enhance product capabilities.

You are a strategic thinker who can take end-to-end ownership of product development, from conception through operations. You understand the importance of scaling AI products to meet the needs of a diverse customer base and are committed to driving the next phase of product evolution at Five9. You are also adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering delivery aligns with business objectives.

Desirable

Experience with cloud contact center software or similar technologies would be a plus. Familiarity with customer experience metrics and analytics can further enhance your contributions to the team. What you'll do

As the Vice President of Engineering and AI Innovations at Five9, you will lead a talented team of software developers responsible for the AI Insights, Agent Assist, and GenAI Studio products. Your primary responsibility will be to direct the evolution of these products, significantly expanding their feature sets and improving their capabilities with cutting-edge AI technologies. You will oversee the entire product lifecycle, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality solutions that enhance customer experiences.

You will work closely with product management and other stakeholders to define the strategic direction of AI innovations at Five9. This includes identifying opportunities for product enhancements and ensuring that your team is equipped to implement these changes effectively. You will also be responsible for mentoring and developing your team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will take ownership of the technical architecture and design of AI products, ensuring they are scalable and robust. You will lead efforts to integrate advanced AI capabilities into existing products while exploring new avenues for innovation. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the adoption of AI technologies across the organization, positioning Five9 as a leader in the customer experience space.
