Job Description

Seeking a strategic, high-level leader to own Design Strategic Planning and Execution for the Worldwide Retail Growth & Development team. This is a hybrid team, bringing together the best of Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh as part of the Worldwide Grocery Stores business. You are the right person for this role if you are seasoned in strategic planning, experienced working in a cross-functional and highly collaborative environment, and have a passion for leading a team to deliver for customers.

This position is responsible for design annual planning, design tracking and mechanisms, remodel planning and prioritization, and Enterprise Design team leadership. You will be the primary liaison for the Design team and work closely with internal teams, WFM stakeholders, and external consultants. You must be entrepreneurial, highly organized, and a critical thinker with an strong curiosity and drive for learning. You must demonstrate the ability to efficiently plan and prioritize deliverables and resources across multiple projects to ensure delivery on time and on budget. You are the right person for this position if you can translate high-level, strategic vision into practical execution, are able to look around corners, work collaboratively and utilize sound judgment.

Key job responsibilities
Serves as primary liaison for Design across WWRGD and WFM for design documentation, annual planning, and ongoing mechanisms.
Manages the overall strategic remodel and brand refresh long-term planning for WFM Design.
Collaborates with key stakeholders across the organization for regular Enterprise project inputs, planning, and tracking.
Works closely with the WFM Merchandising and WWRGD Business Operations teams to determine data, inputs, and goals of Enterprise Design workstreams.
Coordinates sharing of resources among projects and participates in overall design team capacity planning.
Manages WFM and Amazon design teams that are responsible for Enterprise design stores projects.
Oversees project scope and budget development with insights from key business partners to determine priorities.
Participates in Enterprise design planning sessions.
Collaborates with Store Development on annual/3YF execution planning.
Monitors industry and the competition for trends, challenges, and potential opportunities.- 12+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- 6+ years of team management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product- Experience engaging and influencing senior executives

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $160,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $265,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
