Careem is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to design and build advanced applications for the Everything App. You'll work with Kotlin and Java to create scalable mobile solutions. This role requires strong technical skills and experience in mobile development.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in mobile engineering, specifically in building advanced applications that enhance user experiences. Your expertise in Kotlin and Java allows you to create scalable solutions that meet user needs effectively. You are comfortable collaborating with product and design teams to translate user requirements into technical solutions, ensuring that the applications you develop are both functional and user-friendly. You have a strong understanding of integrating backend services to deliver seamless mobile experiences, and you take pride in owning product modules from inception to deployment.

You are a proactive problem-solver who enjoys troubleshooting and providing technical guidance to your peers. Your ability to gather requirements directly from end-users helps you advocate for delightful user experiences, and you are committed to continuously improving the applications you work on. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to a team that values innovation and creativity.

Desirable

Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is a plus, as it allows you to leverage shared code across platforms. Familiarity with agile methodologies and best practices in mobile development will help you excel in this role. You are open to learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving landscape of mobile applications.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and build advanced, scalable applications for Careem's Everything App, focusing on enhancing user experiences across various services. You will collaborate closely with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Your responsibilities will include integrating with backend services to ensure a fast and responsive mobile user experience. You will own end-to-end product modules and features, guiding them from requirements gathering to going live.

You will also be responsible for designing and reviewing code, troubleshooting issues, and acting as a consultant to your peers on technical matters. Your role will involve continuous interaction with end-users to gather feedback and advocate for improvements that enhance user satisfaction. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team, ensuring that best practices are followed throughout the development process.
