Overview

Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Vehicle Intelligence team to drive architecture decisions and develop high-performance cloud services. You'll work with open source technologies and mentor other engineers. This role requires strong system design skills and experience in cloud services.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on system architecture and cloud services. Your expertise in designing high-availability systems allows you to make informed decisions that ensure performance and reliability. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers and designers to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs. Your passion for mentoring others shines through as you help elevate the skills of your fellow engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

You are well-versed in the latest open source technologies and enjoy leveraging them to build robust systems. Your empathy for customers drives you to understand their challenges and develop solutions that truly make a difference. You are comfortable navigating competing engineering trade-offs and can articulate your decisions clearly to your team.

Desirable

Experience with agile methodologies and a background in developing products from the ground up would be advantageous. Familiarity with the public safety sector or similar industries can provide valuable context for your work at Axon.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Axon, you will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture of our Vehicle Intelligence products. You will be responsible for making key technical decisions that impact the performance and reliability of our cloud services. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that we are building the right solutions for our customers.

You will take ownership of your projects, driving them from conception through to deployment.
