Enviva is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support monthly accounting and finance activities. You'll ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and assist with balance sheet reconciliations. This role requires strong attention to detail and experience in financial analysis.
You have a strong background in accounting with a focus on financial analysis and month-end close processes. Your attention to detail ensures that financial transactions are accurately recorded, and you are comfortable working with complex tasks related to plant operations. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Plant Controller and Office Manager. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for operational improvement and process efficiency, and you thrive in a purpose-driven environment focused on sustainability.
Experience in the renewable energy sector or familiarity with wood bioenergy solutions would be a plus. You are adaptable and open to learning new systems and processes, which will help you excel in this role. A background in inventory management and reconciliation processes is also beneficial, as you will be responsible for taking weekly and monthly inventories.
In this role, you will support the monthly accounting and finance activities, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded. You will assist the Plant Controller in performing balance sheet reconciliations during the corporate monthly financial close, which is critical for maintaining accurate financial records. Your responsibilities will include preparing journal entries and supporting documentation, as well as assisting with bi-weekly forecasts and the annual budget. You will also support analyses aimed at improving forecast accuracy and operational decision-making.
Inventory management will be a key aspect of your role, as you will take weekly and monthly inventories of raw materials, spare parts, and consumable inventories. You will ensure the accurate accounting of finished goods inventory shipped from the operating plant location to the port location. Additionally, you will monitor the plant’s load-out function to ensure that all loads leaving are recorded in the software system daily. Effective communication with the port’s Office Manager will be essential to ensure that all loads leaving the plant are accurately documented.
