Monzo is seeking a Director of Operational Risk & Enterprise Risk Management to lead the development and oversight of risk frameworks in Europe. This role requires extensive experience in operational risk management and collaboration with various teams.
You have a wealth of experience in operational risk management, ideally with a focus on financial services. Your background includes developing and implementing risk frameworks that align with regulatory requirements and best practices. You understand the complexities of ICT, InfoSec, Payments, and Third-party risks, and you have a proven track record of providing second-line oversight in these areas. You are a strategic thinker who can navigate the intricacies of enterprise risk governance while fostering a culture of risk awareness across the organization. Your leadership style is collaborative, and you excel at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You are passionate about creating a safe and secure banking environment for customers and are committed to continuous improvement in risk management practices.
Experience in a fast-growing fintech environment would be a plus. Familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks and a strong understanding of the European banking landscape will set you apart. You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on risk management objectives.

You will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer to ensure that risk management practices are integrated into the organization's strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include overseeing key operational risks, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with various teams, including ICT, InfoSec, and Payments, to identify and mitigate risks effectively. You will also be responsible for reporting on risk exposure and developing strategies to enhance the organization's risk posture. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
