Job Description

Instock & Supply Chain Management Team in JP Hardlines division is seeking a Strategic Supply Chain Manager (SSCM) who will optimize the end-to-end supply chain from vendor procurement to customer delivery. The team's mission is to optimize inventory health/turns, reduce out-of-stock rates, and decrease procurement and operational costs.

To achieve these objectives, SSCM will build strong partnerships with business, systems, and supply chain operations teams to drive improvements toward common goals. The team consists of Instock Managers (ISM) who own specific category operations and goals, and this position manages cross-category specific goals, working with ISM.

The SSCM's main responsibilities are as follows. SSCM prioritizes these responsibilities based on business strategy of the division.

1) Logistics improvement proposals to vendors:
a) Proposing Amazon's paid supply chain programs
b) Resolving specific supply chain challenges between vendors and Amazon

2) Internal supply chain operations improvements:
a) Analyzing high-cost factors in financial statements to identify operational issues and implement improvements
b) Improving operations to reduce lead time for customer deliveries

Key job responsibilities
• Development and execution of sourcing/procurement optimization strategies (from division-wide strategies to vendor-specific strategies) to achieve cost saving, followed by impact analysis on inventory turns, sourcing lead-time and out-of-stock rates

• Planning and implementation of internal operation cost reduction initiatives (e.g. inventory storage costs, shipping costs, customer returns, etc.)

• Planning and execution of initiatives to improve inventory placement in order to reduce lead time for customer deliveries

About the team
Instock & Supply Chain Management team is one of the functional/central teams within the Hardlines division. The team is responsible for inventory management of products procured from key vendors across 15 business divisions, providing supply chain services to vendors, and planning and executing logistics initiatives between vendors.- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Japanese language skills (Business level is required)- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- SQL skill and development experience for data analysis
