SpaceX is hiring a Propulsion Build Engineer to develop build processes and tooling for the Starship program. You'll work closely with design and build teams, focusing on the fabrication of propulsion systems. This role requires experience in manufacturing processes and design tools.
You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in manufacturing processes and tooling design. Your experience includes working with pressurized components and systems, and you are familiar with the challenges of high-rate manufacturing. You possess excellent collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with design and build teams. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for aerospace engineering, particularly in propulsion systems. You are comfortable with hands-on work and have experience in fabricating and testing components. You are proactive in seeking solutions and enjoy the challenge of working on complex systems. You are also capable of mentoring and guiding junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative environment.
As a Propulsion Build Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing and refining build processes for the Starship propulsion systems. You will engage closely with design teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency in production. Your role will involve designing tooling for assembly, welding, and part fixturing, as well as overseeing the physical builds of propulsion systems. You will participate in the integration of flight-critical hardware and ensure that all components meet stringent safety and performance standards. Additionally, you will be involved in testing and data review, working with cryogenic fluids and pressurized test setups.
