SpaceX is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to operate and maintain equipment for the Starship project. You'll work with various machinery and materials to fabricate complex parts. This role requires at least 1 year of experience in a shop environment.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of experience working with machinery in a shop environment. You possess a high mechanical aptitude and are comfortable operating equipment such as laser cutters, press brakes, and water jets. Your experience in a high-volume sheet metal fabrication shop is a plus, ideally with 5+ years of machine operating experience. You are willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed, and you can stand for extended periods while performing repetitive movements.
As a Sheet Metal Technician at SpaceX, you will operate and maintain various equipment to assemble basic flight hardware, ensuring that parts are made to engineering specifications. You will read blueprints and use basic inspection tools like calipers and micrometers to verify the conformance of hardware. Your role will involve fabricating complex, tight tolerance parts using different sheet metal materials, including steel and aluminum. You will be responsible for torqueing fasteners and ensuring that all parts meet customer needs.
