Site Reliability Engineer (Senior or Staff), Infrastructure Security

Who you are

You have over 7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on security practices. Your hands-on technical skills are complemented by your ability to mentor and guide a small team of SREs, ensuring that security is a top priority in all aspects of infrastructure management. You are well-versed in cloud security design and implementation, having led projects that involve AWS, Azure, and GCP. Your expertise includes network and compute security, identity management, and cloud security posture management (CSPM). You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with other engineering teams to reinforce the security posture of the platform. You are adept at building automated solutions for real-time security monitoring, logging, and alerting in cloud environments, leveraging both native cloud services and third-party tools. Your experience with security tooling allows you to evaluate, implement, and manage cloud-native security tools effectively.

Desirable

Experience with specific security frameworks and compliance standards is a plus, as is familiarity with incident response and risk management practices. You may also have experience with automation tools and scripting languages that enhance security operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and deployment of security solutions for cloud platforms, ensuring that all security measures are robust and effective. You will be responsible for building automated solutions that facilitate real-time security monitoring and alerting, which are critical for maintaining the integrity of our cloud infrastructure. Your role will involve evaluating and implementing security tools that enhance endpoint security and identity management, ensuring that our systems are protected against emerging threats. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security practices are integrated into the development lifecycle, providing guidance on best practices and compliance requirements. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior SREs, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
