Senior Software Engineer - Java Full Stack - Futures Engineering

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development using Java. You have a proven track record of building scalable applications and are comfortable working with microservices architecture. Your expertise in RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures allows you to create efficient and reliable systems that handle real-time data processing.

You are proficient in front-end technologies, particularly ReactJS, and understand how to integrate UI components with backend services seamlessly. Your experience with cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker, enables you to deploy and manage applications effectively in a containerized environment.

You are familiar with using Apache Kafka for event-driven architectures and appreciate the importance of optimizing application performance, security, and reliability. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working alongside cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD practices and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with Agile methodologies. You are open to learning new technologies and adapting to evolving project requirements, demonstrating a growth mindset that aligns with Clear Street's mission.

What you'll do

In this role, you will enhance and maintain Clear Street's enterprise Cleared Derivatives back-office system, focusing on backend development with Java. You will architect, develop, and optimize server-side applications, ensuring they meet the needs of sophisticated investors. Your responsibilities will include building scalable microservices and integrating them with a modern technology stack.

You will implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, enabling real-time data processing that is crucial for the back-office system's functionality. Collaborating with other developers, you will contribute to front-end development using ReactJS, ensuring a seamless integration of UI components with backend services.

Your role will also involve deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and scalability. You will provide technical support for applications and work closely with cross-functional teams to address challenges and celebrate successes together.
