Overview

Formlabs is seeking a Senior Robotic Systems Integration Engineer to support the development of innovative 3D printing technology. You'll work on integrating firmware and hardware for printer prototypes, requiring expertise in control algorithms and electro-mechanical systems. This role offers a competitive salary range of $125,000—$180,000 USD.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in robotic systems integration, with a strong background in both firmware and hardware development. Your expertise in control algorithms and calibration procedures for complex electro-mechanical and electro-optical subsystems sets you apart. You are skilled in debugging system-level issues and have a solid understanding of sensor-based subsystems and their performance characterization. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work closely with design teams to overcome cross-disciplinary challenges and ensure high-quality product delivery.

You are proficient in programming languages such as C and C++, and have experience with Embedded Linux environments. Your hands-on experience with hardware integration and firmware development enables you to bring together various subsystems effectively. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to the full product development cycle, from early R&D to ongoing engineering for shipped products.

Desirable

Experience with 3D printing technology or similar fields would be a plus. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in robotic systems integration will enhance your ability to contribute to our mission. A passion for innovation and a desire to shape the future of fabrication will resonate well with our team culture.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for integrating firmware and hardware to enable subsystems in the printing pipeline, delivering fully-functional 3D printer prototypes. You will define and implement control algorithms and calibration procedures that ensure the performance and reliability of complex electro-mechanical and electro-optical subsystems. Your work will involve developing sensor-based subsystems and characterizing their performance to meet product requirements.

You will define and manage subsystem and system-level requirements, ensuring that engineering efforts align with product needs. Debugging system-level issues will be a critical part of your responsibilities, requiring you to collaborate with other engineers to identify and resolve challenges effectively. You will also engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration with design teams to ensure that the products we ship meet the highest quality standards.

What we offer

At Formlabs, we offer a competitive compensation package that includes base pay and equity in the form of RSUs. Your financial investment will grow with us in accordance with your impact on the organization.
