Krafton is hiring a Technical Artist to bridge the gap between art and engineering teams, optimizing art pipelines and ensuring technical goals are met. You'll work with tools like Blender and Unreal Engine, requiring proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.
You have a deep understanding of the art production pipeline, including modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, and VFX — your solid knowledge of computer graphics theory allows you to effectively communicate with both artists and engineers. You are proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Python, C#, or C++, and have experience developing automation tools that enhance artist workflows. Your expertise in Unreal Engine 4/5 enables you to navigate its technical aspects, ensuring that the visual quality of projects meets high standards.
In this role, you will serve as a crucial link between the art and engineering teams, maximizing the efficiency of the art pipeline and technically realizing complex visual goals. You will design, implement, and maintain workflows for asset movement from DCC tools like Blender to game engines, ensuring seamless integration. Performance optimization and debugging will be key responsibilities, as you will diagnose and resolve technical bottlenecks such as frame rate drops and memory leaks, ensuring that the content created by artists meets the performance constraints of target platforms.
You will also develop and support scripts, plugins, or custom tools to enhance the efficiency of artists' work. Your role will involve researching and introducing the latest rendering technologies, shader models, and content creation techniques to improve the visual quality of the project. Collaboration is essential, as you will communicate with engineers to request new engine features and educate artists on new technologies and pipeline usage.
