The Exploration Company is seeking a Future Projects Avionics Hardware Engineer to develop avionics hardware for their modular space orbital vehicle, Nyx. You'll work closely with engineering teams and require a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field along with 3+ years of aerospace experience.
You hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and you have over 3 years of experience in designing hardware units specifically for the aerospace sector. Your expertise includes electronic design, embedded systems, and aerospace communication, which allows you to effectively translate mission and system requirements into hardware specifications. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, engaging with various engineering disciplines to define functionalities and performance metrics for avionics hardware.
You have a strong background in hardware design, including creating schematics and selecting off-the-shelf equipment that meets project requirements. Your experience includes following up with manufacturers to ensure timely production and quality assurance of hardware components. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget, ensuring that the hardware you develop meets all necessary standards and specifications.
While not mandatory, experience with modular and reusable systems in aerospace applications would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with integration and testing processes for avionics systems will also enhance your candidacy, as will any prior involvement in projects that required innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
In your role as a Future Projects Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of avionics hardware for Nyx, our modular space orbital vehicle. You will collaborate closely with the Future Systems team, reporting directly to the Principal Engineer. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include defining the required functionalities and interfaces of the hardware, translating mission requirements into actionable hardware specifications, and designing the necessary equipment.
You will also be tasked with selecting appropriate off-the-shelf components and managing the production process with manufacturers to ensure that all hardware is delivered on time and meets quality standards. As part of the integration and testing phase, you will support the assembly of the equipment and ensure that it functions correctly within the overall system. Your role will evolve as the project progresses, allowing you to take on new challenges and responsibilities as needed.
At The Exploration Company, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We offer relocation assistance for candidates willing to move to Munich, including visa sponsorship where applicable. You will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects in the aerospace sector, contributing to the development of innovative technologies that push the boundaries of space exploration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds in our team.
