Google is seeking a Staff AC/DC Rack Power Engineer to lead projects in power converter design for data center power delivery systems. You'll work with technologies related to AC/DC, DC/DC, and microgrid design. This position requires 6+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, along with 6 years of experience in a power converter design technical environment. Your expertise includes AC/DC, DC/DC, or DC/AC converter design specifically for data center power delivery systems. With at least 3 years of experience in technical leadership, you are well-prepared to guide projects and teams effectively.
Your preferred qualifications include a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, which enhances your understanding of complex power systems. You have hands-on experience in power converter design, including AC/DC rectifiers, solar inverters, UPS, and variable speed drives. Your knowledge extends to data center power system design, including microgrid design, showcasing your ability to innovate in this critical area.
You possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail. Your communication skills enable you to work effectively with cross-functional project teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. You thrive in collaborative environments where your technical expertise can shine.
As a key member of the team, you will manage projects across multiple areas, leveraging your expertise to deliver innovative power solutions for data center computing applications. You will monitor the performance of vendors working on projects and evaluate new technologies to ensure the best outcomes for your team and the organization.
In your role, you will lead projects that involve new technologies or new uses of existing technologies, partnering with power industry leaders to drive the evaluation and adoption of compelling technologies. Your technical leadership will be crucial as you troubleshoot system-level power delivery issues, ensuring that solutions are effective and sustainable.
You will engage cross-functionally to ensure the successful rollout, testing, and complete validation of power systems. Your ability to provide direction and guidance will help your team navigate challenges and achieve project goals efficiently. You will play a pivotal role in the development of one of the world's fastest-growing computing infrastructures, contributing to the advancement of AI and Infrastructure capabilities at Google.
