Overview

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Counsel, Employment to provide strategic employment advice across the EMEA region. You'll support workforce growth and manage complex employment issues. This role requires significant experience in employment law.

Who you are

You have extensive experience in employment law, ideally with a focus on technology and innovation. You understand the complexities of multi-jurisdictional employment issues and have a proven track record of providing strategic legal advice to senior leaders. Your ability to navigate the intersection of law and technology makes you a valuable asset to any organization. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities effectively. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex legal concepts in an understandable manner. You are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, understanding the importance of equitable employment practices.

Desirable

Experience in advising on works council and collective consultation matters would be beneficial. Familiarity with compliance in the tech industry and a proactive approach to risk management are also advantageous. A background in corporate law or regulatory issues related to employment would further enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide strategic employment law advice and counseling across the EMEA region, supporting OpenAI's rapid workforce growth. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional partners, guiding them through complex employment issues and helping to shape scalable, compliant employment practices. Your responsibilities will include advising on works council matters, managing collective consultation processes, and ensuring compliance with local employment laws. You will proactively identify and manage risks associated with employment practices, contributing to the development of policies that align with OpenAI's mission and workforce strategy. You will collaborate closely with teams across Legal, People, Communications, and Global Affairs to ensure that employment practices are not only compliant but also supportive of OpenAI's innovative culture.
