Overview

Amazon is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to support M&A and strategic transactions. You'll manage complex transactions and provide legal advice on corporate matters. This role requires a strong background in M&A and at least six years of relevant experience.

Who you are

You are a seasoned legal professional with at least six years of experience in M&A and strategic transactions, ideally gained at a major law firm or within a technology company. Your strong background in managing large and complex transactions equips you to handle tight deadlines effectively. You possess a Juris Doctor and are a member of a state bar, demonstrating your commitment to the legal profession. Your exceptional written and verbal communication skills enable you to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively. You have sound and practical business judgment, allowing you to navigate the intricacies of corporate law with confidence. You thrive in ambiguous environments and can manage a diverse array of mission-critical projects independently.

Desirable

Familiarity with various transaction types, including private and public company deals, stock and asset purchases, cross-border transactions, minority investments, and joint ventures, is highly desirable. Experience with M&A and investments specifically involving technology companies and startups will set you apart. You are flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary, reflecting your dedication to achieving the best outcomes for your clients.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support Amazon's M&A activities and other strategic transactions, providing legal guidance throughout the process. You will research and advise on transactional and general corporate matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Your ability to work effectively with outside counsel will be crucial as you manage complex negotiations and documentation. You will play a key role in structuring transactions, conducting due diligence, and identifying potential legal risks. Your insights will help shape strategic decisions and drive successful outcomes for the company.
