You'll leverage your expertise in PCB fabrication and supplier management to optimize costs and align technology roadmaps. This role requires 12 years of experience in technical sourcing and people management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field, such as Electrical Engineering or Materials Science, and possess at least 12 years of experience in technical sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management. Your background includes a deep understanding of the PCB supplier landscape and the ability to deliver PCB solutions effectively. You have also spent 5 years in people management, leading and developing global teams to achieve strategic goals.

Your expertise extends to PCB fabrication processes, materials science, and advanced substrate technology roadmaps. You have experience working with PCB suppliers or contract manufacturers in an infrastructure environment, which has equipped you with the skills to navigate complex supplier relationships and ensure alignment with engineering teams.

You are an excellent communicator with strong leadership skills, capable of influencing both internal engineering teams and external supplier executive leadership. Your ability to present executive-level insights and strategies is a key asset in your role as a Commodity Manager.

Desirable

An MBA or Master's degree in a technical or engineering field is preferred, as well as experience leading sourcing and supply chain strategies for PCB or advanced substrate commodities. Your familiarity with technology qualification and quality management processes will further enhance your effectiveness in this role.

What you'll do

As a Commodity Manager at Google, you will collaborate closely with Engineering and Product Development teams to influence the PCB technology roadmap. Your role will involve ensuring that supplier capabilities align with future product needs, including high-density interconnect (HDI), sequential lamination, high layer count, and new materials. You will implement supply chain and process improvements through supplier performance metrics, scorecards, business continuity plans, and regular executive business reviews.

Your strategic insights will help optimize the total cost of ownership for Google's global infrastructure, making a significant impact on the company's bottom line. You will leverage your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to drive efficiencies and cost savings across the supply chain.

You will also be responsible for leading and developing global teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding your team to achieve operational excellence and meet the evolving needs of Google's innovative products.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the company. You will work in a supportive environment that encourages you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in shaping the future of technology and making a meaningful impact on the world.
