Overview

Google is seeking a Networking Qualification Engineer to contribute to the development of custom silicon solutions. You'll work with signal integrity, power, and timing while collaborating with ODMs and JDMs to ensure quality standards. This role requires a background in Electrical Engineering and experience in hardware testing.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, and you have at least 2 years of experience in a hardware test or qualification role. Your expertise includes signal integrity, power, and timing, and you possess excellent data collection skills for vendor failure analysis. You are knowledgeable about networking concepts such as routing, switching, and security, and you have a methodical approach to troubleshooting using statistical analysis for quality characterization and root cause identification. Your communication skills are excellent, allowing you to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Desirable

A Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field is preferred. Experience in characterizing CPU, Memory, and peripheral quality is a plus, as is familiarity with NV Link, PCIe, and Ethernet. You are adept at designing test plans, managing test environments, and maintaining equipment, which enhances your ability to contribute to the team.

As a Networking Qualification Engineer at Google, you will be part of a team that pushes boundaries in developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You will contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide, shaping the next generation of hardware experiences. Your role will involve collaborating with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and Joint Design Manufacturers (JDMs) to ensure all testing activities strictly adhere to quality standards. You will identify bugs and drive corrective actions by partnering with external suppliers and internal teams, maintaining and improving the qualification process to enhance testing efficiency and product quality.
