Who you are

You are currently enrolled in a program focused on Information Sciences and Technology or a related field, eager to gain hands-on experience in a technical operations environment. You possess strong written communication skills and have the ability to quickly learn new software applications. Your effective communication style allows you to interact with all levels of management, co-workers, and external parties seamlessly. You excel in time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, enabling you to multi-task and meet deadlines while remaining flexible in a dynamic work environment. You are comfortable working with limited supervision and have a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams. Additionally, you are proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English, which is essential for this role.

What you'll do

As a Technical Operations Intern at Minitab, you will receive and log IT inventory, ensuring that all equipment is accounted for and organized. You will be responsible for moving and setting up computer equipment in various offices, which includes setting up and relocating desks and computer furniture as needed. Your role will also involve setting up, transporting, and testing workstations, docking stations, monitors, and other equipment to ensure they are functioning properly. You will provide limited support for desktops and laptops, troubleshooting and performing minor hardware repairs as necessary. This internship will give you the opportunity to work closely with desktop support technicians, network engineers, and cybersecurity engineers, allowing you to gain valuable insights into the technical operations of a corporate environment.
