Overview

SpaceX is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to provide technical EHS support for launch vehicle manufacturing teams. You'll be responsible for air monitoring, safety inspections, and employee training. This role requires expertise in EHS instrumentation and hazard analysis.

Who you are

You have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with experience in providing technical support to manufacturing teams. Your expertise includes installing and calibrating air monitoring devices and EHS instrumentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards. You are skilled in conducting industrial hygiene studies and analyzing manufacturing byproducts against health thresholds. You understand the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and can qualify requirements through thorough hazard analysis. Your proactive approach to safety includes performing safety inspections and addressing deficiencies to mitigate risks. You are also experienced in facilitating employee safety training and emergency response planning.

What you'll do

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the SpaceX Environmental Health & Safety team, supporting various launch vehicle manufacturing teams. You will install air monitoring devices and integrate associated PLC hardware, ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly. Your responsibilities will include executing industrial hygiene studies to assess manufacturing byproducts and their impact on human health. You will design and deploy high-resolution EHS signage throughout SpaceX locations to promote safety awareness. Additionally, you will monitor air filtration efficacy and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on safety equipment. You will document job hazard assessments and conduct safety inspections, providing recommendations for corrective actions based on your findings. Your role will also involve active participation in emergency response planning and facilitating classroom safety training for employees.
