Engineering Manager - DevOps & Infrastructure

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in engineering management, particularly in DevOps and infrastructure. Your background includes leading teams in building and maintaining hybrid infrastructures, and you are comfortable making architectural decisions that impact the entire organization. You possess a deep understanding of Kubernetes and have hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. Your leadership style emphasizes collaboration and mentorship, as you guide your team through complex technical challenges while fostering their professional growth.

You are well-versed in networking principles and have implemented observability stacks to ensure system reliability. Security is a priority for you, and you have experience in hardening infrastructure against potential threats. You thrive in a fast-paced fintech environment and understand the importance of balancing cost efficiency with performance and scalability. You are a strong communicator, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience with multi-region setups is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud providers and on-prem solutions. You may have worked in financial technology or similar industries where infrastructure reliability is critical. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for continuous improvement will set you apart in this role.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for DevOps & Infrastructure at Thndr, you will lead the design and evolution of our hybrid infrastructure, ensuring it meets the demands of our fast-moving fintech environment. You will be hands-on with Kubernetes, overseeing the deployment and management of clusters while ensuring robust networking and observability practices are in place. Your role will involve reviewing infrastructure code and architecture proposals, driving improvements in reliability, security, and performance.

You will partner with various teams, including Platform and Security, to enable frictionless application delivery and ensure that our infrastructure meets compliance standards. Your leadership will guide the team in implementing CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure provisioning, allowing engineering teams to operate their infrastructure end-to-end. You will also be responsible for establishing monitoring and alerting strategies to proactively address potential issues before they impact our services.
