Amazon is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer for the Leo project to develop and lead quality management activities. You'll focus on process definition, validation, and root cause corrective actions. This role requires expertise in aerospace quality systems.
You have a strong background in quality engineering, particularly in manufacturing environments, with a focus on aerospace quality systems. Your experience includes developing and leading quality management activities, ensuring that processes meet rigorous standards. You are skilled in defining and validating assembly and test methods, and you have a keen eye for detail when it comes to part and process qualification. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements. Your analytical skills enable you to dive deep into root cause corrective action activities, ensuring that production processes are optimized before critical launches. You are proactive in leading discussions around nonconforming materials and are comfortable making decisions that impact product quality.
In this role, you will develop and lead quality management activities for the Leo project, focusing on process definition and validation for assembly and test methods. You will be responsible for creating receiving inspection plans and in-process inspection capabilities to ensure that all components meet quality standards. Leading Material Review Board discussions will be a key part of your responsibilities, where you will determine product dispositions for any nonconforming materials. You will also take the lead in developing and launching multiple aspects of the Quality Management System across the Leo project, ensuring that it scales effectively to meet the demands of aerospace quality at volume and cost levels. Your role will involve close collaboration with Receiving Inspection, Supplier Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure that quality is embedded in every aspect of the production process. You will also be tasked with diving deep into root cause corrective action activities, particularly for the production processes immediately before Leo satellites are loaded into the launch vehicle. Your contributions will be critical in shaping the quality systems that support Amazon's mission to deliver reliable internet through its satellite network.
